Dilettante, dreamer, fish out-of-water, that’s me. Still, one muddles on, and, rather happily, for the most part. Perhaps the luxury of muddling along is the secret of happiness. Anyway, the thing I need to do is read and write, and that’s why I blog, because otherwise it would just be endless reading, with no thoughtful processing of that which I’m reading; I read, therefore I blog, or something like that. Other obsessions include languages and cooking (thus the cook in bookishcook). I fancy myself as a gardener, but really can’t boast of much success in that direction. I also adore travelling, but it’s very much hit or miss, where I go and when.
